PRESSURE VESSEL FABRICATION
Atlas’s Oil & Gas Production Separator serves the purpose of separating well fluids into two or three phases and finds extensive use in oilfield facilities. To achieve highly efficient separation, these production separators are engineered with various principles in mind, including gravity, coalescence, and momentum. Additionally, Atlas offers production separators equipped with a heating system, enhancing separation performance, particularly with heavier crude oils and in cold environments.
Typically, Oil & Gas Production Separators are designed as horizontal gas-liquid separation units. They comprise a horizontal pressure vessel with separator internals, various types of gauges, valves, emergency shutdown (ESD) systems, skids, steel structures, and other advantageous features that ensure safe and straightforward operation. Based on client preferences for automation and control, Atlas can design both mechanically automated and digitally automated production separators.
Mechanically automated production separators incorporate pneumatic mechanical controllers, pressure mechanical controllers, control valves, regulators, air systems, and control instrumentation. All controllers undergo calibration after production and during commissioning. When pressure or level exceeds the calibrated parameters, air is supplied to the relevant control unit to regulate flow in the main process lines.
On the other hand, digitally automated production separators utilize digital level, temperature, and pressure transmitters, which transmit signals to controllers. These controllers, in turn, activate control valves and other instrumentation to maintain flow within the desired parameters. Pneumatically operated instruments and valves require a supply of compressed air, and Atlas specializes in assembling stainless-steel piping and fittings for air supply on separators. They design compressed air lines, air inlet/distribution manifolds, and air scrubbers, all integrated onto a skid for convenient operator access and operation.
